Description
This Dill Pickle Grilled Cheese is a tangy, melty mashup of two comfort food classics. With crunchy pickles layered between gooey melted cheese and crispy golden bread, it’s fast, flavorful, and totally addictive — ready in under 15 minutes!
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 slices of bread (sourdough, rye, white, or multigrain)
- 2–3 slices of sharp cheddar cheese
- 2–4 slices of dill pickles, patted dry
- 1–2 tablespoons butter (softened)
- Optional: ½ tsp Dijon mustard or a pinch of garlic powder
Instructions
- Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
- On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer cheese, dill pickle slices, and another layer of cheese. Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side out.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook sandwich for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Let cool for 1 minute, then slice and serve warm.
Notes
Pat pickles dry to avoid sogginess. Use cheese on both sides of the pickles for better melt and hold. Customize with mustard, herbs, or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for extra flavor.
