Description

This Dill Pickle Grilled Cheese is a tangy, melty mashup of two comfort food classics. With crunchy pickles layered between gooey melted cheese and crispy golden bread, it’s fast, flavorful, and totally addictive — ready in under 15 minutes!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 slices of bread (sourdough, rye, white, or multigrain)
  • 23 slices of sharp cheddar cheese
  • 24 slices of dill pickles, patted dry
  • 12 tablespoons butter (softened)
  • Optional: ½ tsp Dijon mustard or a pinch of garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  2. On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer cheese, dill pickle slices, and another layer of cheese. Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side out.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook sandwich for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  4. Let cool for 1 minute, then slice and serve warm.

Notes

Pat pickles dry to avoid sogginess. Use cheese on both sides of the pickles for better melt and hold. Customize with mustard, herbs, or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for extra flavor.
