Description
This Cheesy Garlic Bread is crispy on the edges, soft in the middle, loaded with melty cheese and bold garlic butter flavor. It’s fast, simple, and better than anything you’ll get at a restaurant — the perfect sidekick to pasta, soups, or cozy nights in.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 loaf of French bread or Italian bread, halved lengthwise
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 3–4 cloves garlic, minced or grated
- 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 tsp dried)
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes or Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix softened butter, garlic, salt, parsley, and any optional seasonings until combined.
- Slice the bread in half lengthwise and spread the garlic butter over both cut sides.
- Top each half with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, distributing evenly.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. For extra crispiness, broil for 1–2 minutes — watch carefully!
- Remove from oven, sprinkle with extra parsley if desired, and slice while warm.
Notes
Use fresh garlic for the boldest flavor. Soften butter to spread evenly. Mozzarella and Parmesan melt beautifully together, but feel free to experiment with other cheeses. Make ahead and freeze for a quick comfort food win anytime!
